POSITION DESCRIPTION:  Manage the Statewide 511 Advanced Traveler Information program. Specific duties include: Chairing the Florida 511 working group meeting, Providing engineering  oversight for the deployment of the statewide 511 traveler information system, Reviewing 511 system status at bi-weekly project management meetings, developing third party data sources, and providing input to the operations and maintenance of current 511 system.

Manages the statewide Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Deployment program. Oversees the 511 system marketing program. Specific duties include: Reviewing and approving as appropriate marketing plans and materials, and reviewing project status at bi-weekly PM meetings, as needed. Administers and provides engineering decisions for the work of the Florida Department of Transportation (FDOT) Transportation Systems Management and Operations General Consultant (TSM&OGC).

Administers the TSM&OGC contract. Directs the TSM&OGC personnel on a daily basis to provide  assistance to the Central Office and FDOT Districts on matters related to the development and deployment of Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) and TSM&O strategies.

Assist in the development and updating of the Standard Specifications as the relate to the deployment of ITS. Signs and seals ITS related documents as required.

Represent the FDOT as members of the I-95 Corridor Coalition's Traveler Information Systems Program Track Committee (TISPTC) and the Vehicle Probe Project (VPP) Agency Project Team. Specific duties are to provide input to further the mission of making traveler information available to the public.

POSITION DESCRIPTION:  Manage the Transportation Systems Management and Operations (TSM&O) Program's statewide software projects including the Advanced Traffic Management Systems Software (SunGuide Software) and Central Date Warehouse System. Manage the projects through the software development lifecycle, including planning, requirements, design, development, testing, deployment and support of the software. Manage the SunGuide software program to provide a standard, but highly configurable statewide Advanced Traffic Management System software. Support statewide Change Management Board meeting and discuss proposed software modifications at these meetings.

Direct and guide work of team members from concept through development and implementation.

Develops and maintains the statewide Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS) Architecture (SITSA) based upon the National ITS Architecture. Oversee the work of specialty consultants for the purpose of ITS Architectures development and updates. Coordinate with MPO's, Central Office and district planning offices, and district-level TSM&O personnel to develop and maintain statewide and regional ITS Architectures. Ensure the development and maintenance of Regional ITS Architectures are in conformance with the SITSA. Coordinate with Metropolitans Planning Organizations (MPOs), Central Office and district planning offices, and district-level TSM&O personnel to ensure project ITS Architectures are developed and conform with the SITSA and the various Regional ITS Architectures. Serves as Traffic Operations Enterprise Data Steward (EDS). Attends Reliable Organized Accurate Sharing (ROADS) EDS meeting. This position will serve in a lead technical role and support the management of strategically important Intelligent Transportation Systems (ITS), Traffic Signal, Construction, Maintenance and/or Integration projects in Aegis’ Eastern Region.

DUTIES:

Duties include serving as a senior engineering leader in the Miami, Florida office. In this capacity, the employee will be expected to perform the following duties:

Support business development activities including opportunity identification, qualification, bid/proposal development, pricing, on-site demonstrations and customer training

PURPOSE

Under general direction, lead and support Aegis ITS by performing skilled work in the installation, troubleshooting, and maintenance of traffic signals and other Intelligent Transportation System (ITS) devices. • Technicians shall have knowledge of electrical and electronics theory; basic terminology, principles, methods, materials, tools, and equipment used in the installation, maintenance and repair of electrical, electronic and telecommunications equipment, including solid-state circuits and transistors; safety precautions while working with electricity, including the National Electric Code, the Electric Orders of the Division of Industrial Safety, and CAL/OSHA safety, and health regulations
• Technicians shall also have the ability to make rough sketches and draw diagrams (including either use of Microsoft Visio, CAD package or equivalent), list material needs, complete work reports, work independently without close supervision, and establish and maintain effective, cooperative relations with those contracted at work, act as a lead worker, instruct assistants, establish and maintain a safe work environment, order materials and equipment, and make daily work reports
• Technicians shall be able to install, repair, and maintain a wide variety of electrical and wiring, cable testing requirements/standards, color coding/proper termination sequence, wiring/cable qualified uses, and knowledge of Electronic Industries Association (EIA)/Telecommunications Industry Associated (TIA) standards, and the ability to read electrical schematic, symbology/drawings, and construction blue prints.
