Responsibilities of this role will be centered around tracking key deliverables, following up with contributors, and interfacing with stakeholders.   • Pumping authorization forms to water management agencies like SWFWMD sometimes requiring FDOT permit, GIS work, tracking down details utilizing Mainstar work orders created by maintenance units for intake, outtake, size, etc.

  • Organizing any procedural tasks related to GIS collector for any contracts to streamline the estimation, status of any work whether trees, sweeping, etc.

  • Other related duties as assigned.

Job Specifications

  • Mainstar - ability in creating and updating work requests and work orders, linking main work orders to sub-work orders, queries, cost input, mapping asset to work orders.

  • GIS - ability to conduct data query, geoprocessing, data management tools relating to projections, utilizing Light Detection and Ranging (LIDAR) information, conversions, etc.

  • Oracle - ability to create/modify service and term contracts, create/modify requisitions, modify purchase orders, approve purchase orders.

  • On-Base - ability to process invoices to Public Works fiscal, reindex back to fiscal if PO is incorrect or work not done.

  • Ability to utilize Microsoft programs such as Excel, Word, PowerPoint and Publisher.

Network Architect - Traffic Management Center

Overview

This position is a professional certified computer networking specialist responsible for the support of all computer systems in the Traffic Management Center (TMC). This position manages the overall network architecture related to ATMS and ITS devices, and assists in the design and development of ITS concepts including requirement analysis, technology review, specification development, testing, operations, and maintenance. Responsibilities include the planning, design, operations and maintenance of the TMC computer hardware, video wall, and software and network systems. Responsible for applying software and hardware solutions to improve the database management, analysis, and efficiency of the TMC objectives and strategic initiatives. Provides support function for all TMC staff and TMC core services including congestion management, incident and special event management, construction and road closure management, emergency response management, travel information dissemination, and database records management.

Responsibilities

  • Acts as a technical advisor on computer systems that support the Traffic Management Center (TMC), including user workstations, servers, support applications, operating systems, device firmware, various data network technologies and topographies, ATMS network equipment, all of which may include knowledge of legacy systems.

  • Ensures system security and availability to only authorized users of each component of the TMC.

  • Assists in the development approaches and practices for cyber security risk managment to prevent or minimize disruptions to critical information infrastructure, and assists in identifying vulnerabilities and gaps to take proactive measures to reduce cyber security risks.

  • Provides technical support to the TMC Manager and staff to ensure seamless operations, and responds to problems with the TMC to ensure that the system is available to operators at all times, and responds to the TMC if the problem cannot be addressed remotely.

  • Responsible for establishing the standard configuration of TMC computers and trains TMC staff on these standards and use.

  • Responsible for completion or assistance of installs, configuration, and maintenance of both physical and virtual computer servers.

Requirements

Possession of a Bachelor's Degree from an accredited college or university with a major in information technology or related engineering field; AND

  • Five (5) years of experience in network administration and/or ITS related field, including experience in local and wide area networks (LAN/WAN) management and administration, including system configuration, setup, troubleshooting, planning, designing, implementation, and user support, requiring knowledge of traffic managment control software, CCTV control software, and other ITS devises, networks, and systems;

  • Desirable to have or obtain a Cisco Certified Network Professional Certification (CCNP), a Microsoft Certified Systems Engineer Certication (MCSE), and an FDOT/IMSA Level II Signal Certification within one year; OR an equivalent combination of education (not less than a high school diploma/GED), training and experience that would reasonably be expected to provide the job-related competencies notes below. Physical Requirements

Work is usually performed in an office environment, but may require field visits to ATMS communication hubs or signal locations to perform installation, configuration, maintenance or troubleshooting of ATMS network devices that involve light to sedentary work that may involve lifting, carrying, pushing and/or pulling of objects and materials of relatively light weight.

Work Category
