2009 - Hany Hassan is working on his PhD at the University of Central Florida. He is working on a Florida Department of Transportation Research Project with Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aty that involves safety and ITS aspects.

2009 - Chowdhury Siddiqui finished his Masters in Transportation and will be continue to work toward a PhD in Transportation at the University of Central Florida. He is working under the direction of Dr. Mohamed Abdel-Aty on a Florida Department of Transportation Research Project that involved both safety and ITS components.

2009 - Ms. Xiaoyu Zhu joined the PhD program in Transportation Engineering at the University of Florida in 2007 with a minor in Statistics. She has been involved in several safety studies some of which have been published by the Transportation Research Board.

2008 - Nagesh Nayak was presented with the top award for 2008. He is a graduate student at the University of South Florida (USF) pursuing a Master of Science in Civil Engineering. Mr. Nayak is the Marketing Chair of the American Society of Civil Engineers Student, Chapter at USF and a member of the ITE at USF. His area of concentration is transportation engineering and his expected date for graduation is Summer 2010. As a future transportation engineer, “he wants to apply his knowledge and expertise to confront the traffic challenges in the State of Florida and develop sustainable solutions that are beneficial to our communities.”

2008 - Enrique Gonzalez-Velez is a doctoral candidate at University of South Florida (USF). His area of concentration is transportation engineering and his expected date of graduation is Spring 2010. Mr. Velez is a member of the National Scholars Honor Society. He is currently a research assistant with the Center for Urban Transportation Research (CUTR) and has previously served as a teaching assistant at the University of Puerto Rico.

2008 - Patricio Alvarez is a doctoral candidate at Florida International University (FIU). His area of concentration is transportation engineering and his expected date of graduation is December 2010. Mr. Alvarez is very active in professional organizations, including the American Society of Civil Engineers (ASCE), Chi Epsilon the National Civil Engineering Honor Society and he serves as the Vice President of the FIU ITE student chapter. He earned the Outstanding Masters Graduate Award from the College of Engineering and Computing at FIU in 2008.

2007 - Ms. Yan Xiao from Florida International University in Miami. Ms. Xiao is a PhD student and has maintained a 4.0 GPA. Her focus is Transportation Engineering and she is working as a research assistant on funded research projects.
