The ITS Florida Outreach Committee is responsible for the website, for publications, marketing, and legislative and elected official education. Meetings are held semi-monthly by teleconference. Committee members include: Steve Bahler, Sandy Beck, Erica Birosak, Denise Bunnewith, Chester Chandler, Dale Cody, George Gilhooley, Mary Hamill (Chair), Shawna Kennedy, Lorin Krueger, Andy Lucyshyn, Jesus Martinez, K. K. Saxena, and Anita Vandervalk.
Publications
The Publications Committee seeks opportunities for articles and stories about ITS, identifies potential authors for those articles, and follows up to make sure the publication receives our submission. Monthly, an article is published in the SunGuideTM DISSEMINATOR. If you are interested in submitting an article to the DISSEMINATOR , please contact Mary Hamill, Outreach Committee Chair.
Legislative Outreach
- Provides information to elected officials about intelligent transportation initiatives and their benefits. Offers speakers to groups who want to know more about ITS.
Website
- Submit edits and updates to the Website by transmitting a Website Update Form by email.
- Job Postings are reviewed and accepted regularly by use of a Job Posting Form.
- Courses and conferences may be posted on the Calendar pages by sending date, time and brief description of the event or training.
Events Support
- The Outreach Committee supports the Events Committee by creating educational materials for upcoming industry events including the annual ITS America conference. To become involved, please contact Mary Hamill at marykhamill@global-5.com. The Outreach Committee will also assist with the 2011 World Congress/ ITS America 2011 Annual Meeting that will be held in Orlando at the Orlando/Orange County Convention Center. Committees are forming to support this effort and more information will be available soon.
